Join Dr. Alvi and Plant-based Nutrition Specialist Barbara Penaranda for an interactive discussion of nutrient-dense nutrition. You’ll learn some of the best sources of carbs, proteins, fats, fiber, minerals and vitamins that help to maximize nutrition, maintain healthy weight and prevent chronic diseases. Dr. Alvi will present an in-depth review of how Power Plate foods contribute to overall health. Barbara will demonstrate and share some of her favorite Power Plate recipes.
Board Certified Endocrinology Specialist Saadia Alvi, MD treats endocrine-related conditions including diabetes and thyroid disorders. She combines conventional evidence-based and lifestyle medical approaches to provide custom-tailored health care solutions for her patients. She is a plant-based endocrinologist, and emphasizes prevention, nutrition and healthy lifestyle in her treatment of chronic conditions. Her practice, Vitality Endocrinology, is located at the Vitality Center Orlando.
Barbara Penaranda works with people to create a sustainable change in the world – starting by what we eat. She coaches on nutrition, teaches cooking classes, gives nutrition lectures and creates menus and recipes. She also provides weekly meal planning and cooking to help individuals achieve their nutritional goals.
